the most frustrating thing I’ve ever heard in my life is when you have to do a million things and your friend says “but I don’t want to do this”. I’ve been there and it sucks. There’s no way that you can get over it. But you start to realize that you’re not your job and you’re not what your friends are.
I feel like a lot of people seem to have “happened to me” syndrome. To some extent it stems from the fact that they are surrounded by people who have the same goals as them; as a result they try to do everything and they do it very well. In fact, it is very hard to separate a person’s “good” from their “bad”. I think there are a lot of people who just don’t enjoy their jobs.
Maybe it’s time for you to quit and do something else. Maybe you should go back to school and learn a trade or something. Maybe you should try to learn a new hobby. Maybe you should just leave the job. I think that most people who have this mindset are the ones that are unhappy with themselves or feel unfulfilled. But I also think that the people who are unhappy with their jobs may be the ones who are also unhappy with their lives.
The job itself may suck, but if you want to be happy in your life, you have to stop sucking at your job. The problem for many people is that they are so unhappy with themselves that they are actually unhappy in their lives. It’s easy to tell yourself just to quit and do something else. It’s much harder to change who you are or how you feel.
That’s the way it is for most people, I think. I’ve heard it said many times: “You can’t change the past, but you can change the future.” That’s how I feel about myself and how I feel about the job I’m currently in.
That is the biggest problem with many people who want to quit their jobs. It’s like trying to take a pill and expecting it to work for you. You only live in the present, and the problem is that in the present you are unhappy. The best you can do is to figure out how to get out of the present.
The problems you’re not aware of are the ones you’re trying to fix. If you’re unhappy with your current position, there are a lot of ways to get out of it. If you think you might want to change your job, start looking for new opportunities. Even if you think you’re going to die, you can always find a way to start over.
As a general rule, the more you feel you are out of control, the more you are likely to be, and the more you are likely to avoid the people who can help you fix your unhappiness. But there are exceptions to this rule, so don’t sweat the small stuff. In this case, I think it’s safe to say that I’m not the only one who really likes the happy/negative/negative-ish life equation.
I think its safe to say that a lot of people really liked that this was a more interesting version of the happy negativ. (That’s the name of the game, folks. The more you try to convince yourself you’re happy, the less you are likely to be.) What I’m trying to say is that it’s okay to want to be unhappy. Some of us can’t get into the mindset of being happy, because we’re too afraid of being unhappy.
Sure, you might still be happy. But the next time you get a little depressed you might realize you really cant get out of your head. You need to change your attitude.
