With the temperature staying at an average of about 60 degrees, apartment heaters keep getting more and more noisy. Since my apartment is in the center of the city, I am constantly on the phone to a central location to ask if my heater is on or what the temperature is and if the heating does or doesn’t work.

I can’t say I have any problem with them getting louder, but I guess it is kind of annoying. Why do they bother? The heaters are meant to save energy and we’re paying a premium to do this.

I agree. I would suggest buying a heating pad but it might take a while to get. I have a heating pad that I have to plug into the furnace so I can hear the furnace if I want to know what is going on. The only problem is that I have to plug it in too close to the furnace if I want to hear anything. I don’t want to hear the furnace because then I would know that its on.

It sounds like the heater that I just described has some sort of issue with the venting system, but I don’t really know. I just know I’m going to have to call for a repair service, but I’m not sure what I can do to fix it, and I don’t want to have to keep calling the service provider. I think this might be a good time to mention that my heater is the one in my kitchen. Its the largest, most efficient, and most energy-efficient one I’ve ever owned. It also happens to be the loudest one I own, which is probably why it was a good pick as a heater.
